Cisco Meraki’s architecture delivers out-of-the-box security, scalability, and management to enterprise networks. The feature rich, easy to use cloud based architecture provides customers with 100% cloud managed networking.

It is fall of 2008. I just pulled into the parking garage and found a cherry spot to park my H2 Hummer. I am rushing to get a good seat for our weekly early Monday morning four hour meeting. I know that if I don’t get there soon, all of the good seats will be taken and ruin the start of my week.

What is a good seat you ask? Well, it has nothing to do with the chair or location, all I care about is grabbing one of the eight wired network connections. As I juggle my coffee, laptop, blackberry and briefcase, I open the heavy wood door, I see eight of my co-workers smiling and giving me the big LOSER smile. All eight network ports are taken by even earlier birds.

This is the scenario that played out day after day in Corporate America in 2008. It seems like the dark ages now, as we all have our smart phones and tablets all connected wirelessly and safely to the company network, in a large part due to efforts of the Cisco Meraki team. The advent of wireless devices and networks helped dramatically reshape every work place in the world. We have all come to expect reliable and accessible wireless everywhere we go, from the coffee shop to the airport to the office.

Why Cisco Meraki? They’ve done it before and they will do it again. Cisco Meraki will continue to be a leader in the future. Cisco Meraki’s architecture delivers out-of-the-box security, scalability, and management to enterprise networks. cloudHelpDesk Services From cloudIT

The purpose of cloudHelpDesk is to troubleshoot problems or provide guidance with respect to our services. Help desk support can be provided to customers through various channels such as toll-free numbers, web portal, instant messaging, or email.

Our help desk typically performs several functions thus providing a single point of contact for end-users to receive troubleshooting assistance, get answers to questions, or solve known problems. The help desk generally manages its requests through the use of issue tracking system software which allows the help desk to track and sort user requests with the help of a unique number, and can frequently classify problems by user, computer program, or similar categories.

Based on studies regarding help desks value was derived not only from a reactive response to user issues, but also from the help desk’s unique position of communicating daily with numerous customers or employees. Information gained with respect to such areas as technical problems, user preferences, and satisfaction proved valuable in the planning and development work of other information technology units.

Remote access allows technicians to solve many help desk issues from another work location. Even though there may still be a need for on-site support to effectively collaborate on some issues, remote support provides greater flexibility.

    The Tiers of cloudHelpDesk

The help desk is structured into different levels to handle different types of questions. For example, a first-level or Tier 1 help desk may be prepared to answer the questions or provide the information commonly found in a FAQ or knowledge base. If the issue cannot be resolved at the first level, it can be forwarded to a second level or Tier 2 with resources to handle more complex issues. A third line or Tier 3 level of support is utilized to deal with software-specific needs, such as updates and bug fixes that directly affect a specific client.

    • Tier 1: Commonly asked questions, knowledge base questions
    • Tier 2: More complex technical questions and issue resolution
    • Tier 3: Software specific support such as updates and bug fixes

The requisition of an onsite technician usually occurs from an escalation process through the remote help desk.

    Scalability & Flexibility with cloudMange

Cloud management entails the utilization of software and technologies designed for operating and monitoring applications, data and services residing in the cloud. The tools utilized help to ensure that cloud computing-based resources are working optimally and properly interacting with users and other services within your company.

Numerous tasks such as performance monitoring (response times, latency, uptime, etc.), security and compliance auditing and management, and initiating and overseeing disaster recovery and contingency plans are all part of the cloud management strategy.

Flexibility and scalability are important components of a company’s cloud management tools especially in today’s age of increasing growth, complexity and variety of private, hybrid, and public cloud based systems and infrastructure already in use.

Why should a business consider cloud management? What are the benefits?

    • Additional uptime:Equals increased productivity which in turn translates into additional money saved. While it may be difficult to put a value on up-time stats many businesses stand to lose a substantial amount of money if their core business systems are not functioning properly. Cloud management can spot these issues before they occur and pay for itself with a single instance of a problem that was averted.
    • SLA reporting:Cloud management technology can monitor a cloud provider’s ability to live up to the established service level agreement. Response times, latency, and uptime need to be tracked over time and the cloud manager is alerted when the system behavior does not support the pre-established criteria. In many instances, there are financial penalties that the provider must pay.
    • Compliance management:Encompasses monitoring the effectiveness of security and compliance. The system will typically keep logs to support compliance audits and other activities. An example would be of healthcare clients who must remain in compliance with existing rules and regulations in addition to reporting to auditors. Results of not being compliant could mean stiff penalties or even a suspension of operations. None of this changes when moving to the cloud.
    • Understanding disasters:Cloud management technology gives you the ability to track the operations of a cloud-based system, including what occurred in the lead-up to a failure.

cloudDesktop or Hosted Desktop Services From cloudIT

Also known as hosted desktop services, desktop-as-a-service is frequently delivered as a cloud service along with the apps needed for use on the virtual desktop.

As a hosted desktop provider we handle storing, securing and backing up a user’s data, as well as upgrades for the DaaS service and supported applications. cloudDesktop has a multi-tenant architecture and the service is purchased on a subscription basis.

    Features/Benefits of DaaS:

    • We manage the back-end responsibilities of data storage, backup, security and upgrades.
    • Customer personal data is copied to and from the virtual desktop during logon/logoff.
    • Access to the desktop is device, location and network independent.
    • Significant cost savings since we handle all the bank end infrastructure costs and maintenance.
    • A good alternative for small or mid-size businesses that want to provide their end users with the advantages a virtual desktop infrastructure offers, but find that deploying a VDI in-house to be cost-prohibitive in terms of budget and staffing.

    cloudWiFi Services From cloudIT

With cloudWifi you can eliminate the cost and complexity of traditional on-site wireless controllers with multi-site management via the cloud. This results in a nationwide network that any business or customer can access.

A Wi-Fi controller can manage access to hundreds of different Wi-Fi access points, allowing devices to connect to the network as a whole, not just via individual routers. By putting the controller in the cloud, it is removed from the physical network and can hook tens or even hundreds of thousands of individual access points scattered throughout the world onto the same virtual network.

    • There is a new technology that offers a software-based wireless controller that virtualizes the management functions of the Wi-Fi network in the cloud. A company utilizing this technology would not have to manage thousands of individual local business wireless networks when it starts offering up Wi-Fi services. For example; As a group of retail businesses attaches their access points to the cloud they all become part of the same centrally managed service. This would enable each company to serve up en masse cloud-based applications such as advertising and point-of-sale payment services, feeding them to all devices connected to cloud Wi-Fi providers’ access points.
    • As an end user the experience is like being on one large home network; once logged in securely at your doctor’s office, you are logged in when you walk into the coffee shop down the street or a bakery two states over.

    cloudServer Technology From cloudIT

Services are made available to users on demand via the Internet from a cloud computing provider server as opposed to being provided from a company’s own on-premises servers. Cloud server hosting may sometimes be referred to as cluster server hosting or server on-demand hosting since rather than being provided by a single server or virtual server, cloud server hosting services are provided by multiple connected servers that comprise a cloud.

A dynamic Virtual Private Server is often referred to as a cloud server.

Key attributes of a VPS are:

    • It can be changed at runtime to add additional hardware resources (CPU, RAM).
    • The server can be moved to other hardware while the it is running (automatically according to load in some cases).
    • Virtualization provides a higher level of security, as the individual virtual servers are mostly isolated from each other and may run their own full-fledged operating system which can be independently rebooted as a virtual instance.
    • Runs its own copy of an operating system and customers have super user-level access to that operating system instance, so they can install almost any software that runs on that OS.
    • Functionality is equivalent to a dedicated physical server, and being software defined are able to be much more easily created and configured.
    • Priced much lower than an equivalent physical server.

IaaS or Infrastructure as aService benefits include:

    • Servers and software are purchased as a fully outsourced service.
    • Cost Effective – billed on usage and how much of the resource is being utilized
    • Eliminates the traditional method of buying software and servers outright.

A Higher level of Network Protection with cloud Secure

cloud Secure offers a much higher level of data center and virtual system security than most organizations can or will build on their own. Security was initially viewed as one of the biggest obstacles to the widespread adoption of cloud-based deployments for enterprise software solutions. Today however, the combination of advancing technology plus an increasing variety of threats that companies must guard against is rapidly turning the tide.

Why cloudIT Security Beats What You Have On-Premise:

    • Stronger protection:
cloudIT customers get the benefit of fully certified security without the expense and difficulty of personally getting certified.
    • Advanced security framework:
At the cloud infrastructure level, the essential security framework that covers one customer scales up to cover everyone. Thus everyone benefits from the same high level of protection
    • Immediate response to emerging threats:
Since we can rapidly deploy a fully tested response to all customers at once we provide customers with rapid, timely protection from emerging threats that they would never be able to manage feasibly on their own. By delegating the responsibility for cyber-attack response us, your organization can spare themselves a major source of cost and distraction.
    • Network Reliability:
If despite all the precautions and safeguards, something happens to go wrong, it’s vital to minimize the disruption to the business. Downtime means loss of productivity; loss of revenue, and possibly loss of customers. That’s where redundancy comes into play. We can build far more extensive redundancy, scalability, reliability, and external protection than any individual business can. You have the advantage of backup power, multiple connections and the ability to distribute images of any application instance among many geographically separate centers to ensure continuous operation even through natural disasters that span multiple regions. There’s just no comparison in terms of cost, complexity, or risk.

    Why is cloud Backup necessary?

Projects can be paralyzed when a business loses files or encounters system failures. That is why having a contingency plan is so important. In today’s business environment the need for an affordable, reliable online backup system with the capability of securing critical data is abundantly clear.

cloud Backup helps your business by protecting those important files that you need for your website or applications. You can get back to normal operations rapidly when your files are quickly restored after a system failure or file loss.

What are the advantages of remote backup over traditional backup methods?

    • Traditionally manual backups required taking the backup media offsite. Remote backups are stored in a different location from the original data thus eliminating that step and ensuring a quick recovery in the event of a local disaster.
    • The user does not have to label CDs or perform other manual steps since remote backup does not require user intervention.
    • Unlimited data retention.
    • Backups are automatic.
    • Continuous backup: Some remote backup services will work continuously, backing up files as they are changed.
    • Remote backup services can maintain a list of versions of your files.
    • Most remote backup services utilize encryption to send data over unsecured links (i.e. internet).
    • A few remote backup services can reduce backup by only transmitting changed binary data bits.

IN ADDITION, EXPERT BACKUP MANAGEMENT SERVICES TYPICALLY PROVIDE:

    • Assistance with the configuration of the initial backup.
    • Ensuring that backups on client machines actually occur by continually monitoring the backup processes.
    • Proactive vigilance in the event of any backup failure.
    • Assistance in the restoration and recovery of data.
